Feminine, glamorous and a trail-blazer in the world of style: that’s Fornarina. Original, daring, Fornarina broke all the rules right from the start. A champion of style research and innovation. Fornarina debuted in the ‘40s. At the time, it was shoes, and its original and colourful models immediately caught the attention of young fashion victims.
At the beginning of the 90’s, Lino Fornari took over leadership of the group and defined the new marketing strategy to attract consumers, concentrating mainly on product diversification and worldwide exposure. Fornarina has always been synonymous with know-how, style, and creativity. In 1998 it was able to make the leap into ready-to-wear with the first garment collection, when it launched the Fornarina jean, to later become an icon of the brand’s contemporary attitude. Its stylish cuts and appealing treatments quickly established Fornarina’s reputation for wearability. It has become a standard of international streetwear style.
In the last decade Fornarina strengthened its international presence by opening flagship stores all over the world: from London to Los Angeles, and Amsterdam to Stockholm.
As of the end of 2008, the Fornarina embarked on a revolutionary new retail concept.
This gave the brand experience a full-bodied and tangible twist. Fornarina unleashed new colours: Black, Red, Magenta and Gold, which appeared in the different display sections and most importantly, a red carpet welcoming our customers as real celebrities, inviting them to discover the brand’s different souls: from glam rock to vaguely retro, and ultra-pop or supersophisticate.
Fornarina likes to experiment. As a result, the brand set up its own style lab, which is run by two highly creative free spirits: Caterina Aimone and Marco Bragaglia. Their goal is to explore new worlds and places of communication. Under their guidance, the brand’s curious and revolutionary spirit has come to the fore. Important artists such as Miss Van, Dominique Donois, tokidoki, Katrin Petursdottir, Stina Persson, Glenn Barr, Mijn Schatje, Junko Mizuno and Angelique Houtkamp have already been involved in the project.
The Fornarina art lab’s latest challenge is the Fornarina Urban Beauty Show: a travelling, multi-sensorial and visually impressive event that perfectly translates Fornarina’s imagery, a blend of femininity, experimentation and irony. In the Fornarina Urban Beauty Show, art, fashion, music and dance intermingle in an unprecedented, unique blend of artistic discourse, creating a midway of sensual delights where spectators are charmed and guided by lights and sounds.
Fornarina lives for and through innovation. Crossing over half a century of history, it interprets the soul of time, always in line with its unique and unmistakable style.
