In the world of fashion, a select group of fashion leaders have revolutionized the contemporary clothing marketplace through their passion. Jimmy Taverniti is one of those leaders.
When he created his brand in Europe in the 1980’s, Jimmy took influence from American vintage, developing highly specialized techniques to emulate and redefine the look of modern sportswear. His vision – mixing ready-to-wear with a vintage flair – created a an original style. The Jimmy Tavernity look.
Jimmy Taverniti was the first namesake collection he launched. It quickly garnered him a strong and loyal following in the best stores in the world. In the fashion world, Jimmy Taverniti became widely known as “The Alchemist” for his cutting edge advanced treatments of fabrics, still widely used today. Always the visionary, he held tight to his belief that vintage inspired fashion would persevere in modern sportswear.
A promoter of relaxed elegance, Taverniti and his collection enjoyed tremendous success, and he landed a collection directorship with Iceberg Jeans, Claude Montana and Etro. In 2004 Jimmy launched Taverniti So jeans, a line of hand finished denim, which cemented his reputation as an innovator and directional designer.
Jimmy has just started a new venture, inspired by the Slow food movement, which seeks to bring back local produce and home cooked meals prepared with loving care. Slow Wear picks up on the spirit of this movement by encouraging environmentally friendly processes, as it defines an enduring style marked by classic detail and an iconic fashion sense that stands the test of time. Jimmy Taverniti stays true to his greatest loves: vintage denim, military and sportswear.
